Jira invoicing that follows the budget model
Biller Plus does Jira invoicing from your worklogs. Rates by person, role, client or project turn every hour into money, and invoices follow the budget model, with PDF and Xero or QuickBooks Online import files.
Four budget models, four billing rules
The hourly and fixed-fee lines use the sample project from the profit page. The retainer and milestone lines are made-up examples.
| Model | Rule | Sample |
|---|---|---|
| Hourly | Billable value + billable expenses: 84h × $175 | $14,700.00 |
| Fixed fee | Contract value × % complete (max 100%) + billable expenses: $15,000 × 84 ÷ 174 hours | $7,241.38 |
| Retainer | Monthly fee for each month elapsed, part months by days: $4,000 × 2.5 months | $10,000.00 |
| Milestones | Sum of completed milestones: $5,000 + $2,500 | $7,500.00 |
A fixed-fee project bills its fee as the work gets done, with the hours as a time detail for the client.
Which rate applies
The most specific rate wins. Within a level, the rate with the latest effective date on or before the worklog date applies. A raise never changes old worklogs.

Amounts that multiply out
All amounts are stored as whole cents with a currency. One worklog's amount is hours × hourly rate, rounded to the nearest cent, half away from zero.
1.5h × $80.33 = $120.50
Invoice lines are priced as total hours × rate, so each line multiplies out exactly.
Each project has one currency. A rate in another currency is converted with the exchange rate effective on the worklog date. Historic conversions never change.
From worklogs to invoice
Billed invoice records are kept, so nothing is billed twice.
- Pick a project and period.
- Review the lines by role.
- Export the file you need.
- Mark the worklogs as billed.
PDF, Xero and QuickBooks Online
PDF invoices carry your company details, tax ID, payment terms, notes and logo, and your client's billing address.
Biller Plus does not connect to Xero or QuickBooks. A finance admin downloads a CSV import file and imports it in the accounting system. The file is made in your Jira site and goes only to the person who downloads it.
